Objects as touchpoints

Room 13 at Milan Design Week

Let’s imagine a hotel. Not in a specific place – but one that could exist anywhere. We call it the Decor Walther Hotel Boutique.

In Room 13, this place becomes a stage. Two guests move through spaces, touch objects, leave traces. Situations emerge, shift, and dissolve again.

The focus turns to the moments in between – to what remains. To objects that become points of contact, carrying a sense of meaning and appreciation.

And it is here that the question arises: When do things begin to carry this meaning?

Behind Room 13

What began in Milan in 2025 continues in Room 13. Out of the collaboration with Marc Krause, an ongoing dialogue emerges in which images, spaces, and motifs are continuously reinterpreted.

From this, a photographic staging unfolds – one that turns a hotel into the setting of a quiet narrative. At its center are the objects of Decor Walther as points of contact: silent protagonists that structure space and carry atmosphere.

In the interview, Viviane Hausstein, Marc Krause, and Henry Walther speak about this process – about intuition, repetition, and the tension between staging and authenticity.

The Room 13 book will be presented and published for the first time during Milan Design Week 2026.
